Because honey is beneficial for your skin and buy buying local, it helps small farmers make a living...
It's that simple, but I want to break it down a bit. Growing up in Florida and taking back roads to all of my hunting spots, I can't go 10 miles through the woods without seeing stacks of boxes lined up in rows set up in open fields and pastures. These boxes contain drawers (almost like your dresser), which serves as trays for bees to make their beehives in a safe location.
Whenever someone out of Florida thinks of the sunshine state, they think of beaches, MIAMI (Mr. 305... *sighs*), oranges, and alligators. But, what they don't realize is theres a old part of Florida they miss out on, and that's tasting honey from Florida's rural countryside. Just like everything else, theres multiple different strains of honey. Florida claims the Orange Blossom varietal, but offers many others.
Orange Blossom Honey
Yeah Yeah, now why do you use it?
Great question! I started using local honey from a beekeeper located in Lantana, FL right around the corner from me who harvests real, raw, Florida honey. I mean so raw, that this stuff still has the comb in the jug! We take this fresh raw honey and immediately use it in your favorite soaps such as the Gold bar. Honey contains an abundance of antioxidants, amino acids, and essential enzymes which will fade away after being kept in hot or cold weather, which is why we are so quick on using it in our products.
Honey contains all sorts of skin benefits such as:
- It's antibacterial.
- Full of antioxidants, it is great for slowing down aging.
- Honey is clarifying because it opens up pores making them easy to unclog.
Thats just to name a few. In the end, we all benefit from local Florida honey here at Hagwood. The beekeeper gets his paycheck from us, we use it to make high quality soap that works, and you win by receiving this honey rich soap that will leave your skin screaming for more.
Local is the way to go.
